Sr. Technical Support Engineer

Job Summary

Adaptive Computing Enterprises is seeking to fill the position of Sr. Technical Support Engineer. Adaptive computing is headquartered in Provo, Utah; with offices in Naples, FL. Adaptive Computing enjoys a rock-solid industry reputation in High Performance Computing. We’ve built that reputation on our industry-leading Moab software technology. Moab® HPC Suite is a workload and resource orchestration platform that automates the scheduling, managing, monitoring, and reporting of HPC workloads on massive scale.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide phone, email, and chat support to global customers and partners
  • Interface with engineering to document bugs and enhancements to current product lines
  • Author knowledgebase articles on supported products
  • Provide an equitable stake in handling support cases
  • Provide a level of customer service that does not fall below the group average score

Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience providing phone and electronic support on highly technical Linux-based applications
  • Experience in Linux scripting, systems design, software design theory and networking
  • Degree in Computer Science, information technology, information systems, or a related field preferred but not required
  • Experience in troubleshooting and diagnosing symptomatic failures in application software

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Experience with the standard HPC software stack and how HPC works
  • Linux fluency and scripting
  • Proven success working in a fast-paced, changing environment; strong sense of urgency
  • Driven by seeing a customer find success

 

 

Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience with HPC schedulers (Moab, Torque, SLURM, LSF, PBSPro, SGE, etc)
  • HPC system administration
  • Familiarity with python programming language
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools and how to debug network traffic (wireshark)
  • Familiarity with gdb, valgrind, autoconf, make, and other Linux development tools
  • Familiarity with RESTful Web Services, Mongodb, Postgres, Tomcat, Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, SQL
  • Familiarity with standing up environments in public cloud offerings (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
  • Exceptional writing skills
