Senior Software Sales Executive

Adaptive Computing is seeking to fill a full-time position for a SENIOR SOFTWARE SALES EXECUTIVE. Adaptive Computing is headquartered in Provo, Utah; with offices in Naples, FL. The Company enjoys a rock-solid industry reputation in High Performance Computing. We’ve built that reputation on our industry-leading Moab software technology. Moab® HPC Suite is a workload and resource orchestration platform that automates the scheduling, managing, monitoring, and reporting of HPC workloads on massive scale.

The role of the SENIOR SOFTWARE SALES EXECUTIVE will be to close large software deals with Fortune 1000 companies. This role includes working with some of the top organizations worldwide, helping them transform their business through the use of technology. This individual will be responsible for prospecting and finding direct sales opportunities through their self-directed efforts. The Senior Software Sales Executive will be accountable to meet quarterly and annual quotas and will be a team player as a member of the North American Sales Team. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to manage and develop these accounts. As an Executive Manager, you will be managing a growing business with many large clients who drive yearly revenue targets and long-term revenue opportunities.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Proactively identify target prospects, establish contact with these prospects, and walk them through the sales cycle
  • Meet quota and other targeted metrics
  • Create a strategic and actionable account plan for HPC middleware that defines a clear growth strategy
  • Give presentations on technical software
  • Produce professional-quality email and other written communication with key executives
  • Manage responses to RFIs and RFPs
  • Continue account management for the life of each account after the sale to ensure long-term customer satisfaction
  • Ensure that Adaptive teams are well-orchestrated and leveraged around relationships and opportunities, by communicating the vision and strategy for your account, handing off opportunities to team members and providing feedback to HQ departments as needed
  • Ensure that clients deploy the solutions acquired by working with team members on deployment plans and customer adoption of these plans
  • Maintain comprehensive company and HPC industry knowledge


  • College Degree preferred but not required
  • At least 5 years of sales experience in the software industry
  • Existing network of contacts for IT executives and data center operators preferred
  • Strong history of managing Executive-level relationships
  • Experience selling HPC scheduling or orchestration software such as IBM Platform LSF or Altair PBS Pro a plus
  • Strong writing, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multitask
  • Excellent analytical skills; Project management skills; People skills; Detail oriented
  • Good understanding of enterprise software; HPC experience a plus
