Alan Nugent

Board Member – Independent

Alan Nugent is a leading independent member of the Adaptive Computing Board of Directors. He is a senior executive with nearly 30 years of experience in managing and engineering the strategic direction for technology in global enterprises ranging in size from start-ups to $20 billion+ ventures. Alan was CTO for CA Technologies, guiding CA’s technology vision and strategy. Prior to CA, Alan was Senior Vice President and CTO at Novell Inc., where he helped push the networking software vendor to more fully embracing open-source technology. Prior to Novell, Alan was CTO of Xerox.

Bobby Kandaswamy

Board Member – Intel Capital

Bobby is a Director at Intel Capital. Prior to Intel Capital, Bobby was a senior manager driving New Business Initiatives at Cardinal Health, a global leader in medical and surgical products. Before that, Bobby worked at Baxter Healthcare in Business Development and Product Development roles. Bobby is currently a board observer at Grid Net, PacketMotion, Sotera Wireless and Viridity Energy, and a board member at Adaptive Computing. He has also invested in and managed exits at FutureSoft (acquired by Flextronics), IP Infusion (acquired by Access) and NetScaler (acquired by Citrix).

Chris Stone

Board Member – Epic Ventures

Chris Stone is Managing Director for Epic Ventures, which includes a focus on cloud and Internet infrastructure firms. He brings over 29 years of public and private technology company operational and entrepreneurial experience from engineering to executive management. Chris was a programmer at Data General, CEO of four technology startups, creator of the original WEB and Distributed systems standard CORBA, and Vice Chairman and CEO of Novell. Prior to joining EPIC Ventures as a Managing Director, Chris was CEO of SiCortex, makers of the world’s most energy-efficient high performance Linux computers. Prior to SiCortex, he was CEO of StreamServe (acquired by Open Text), a European-based document management company. Through his career, he garnered numerous Linux and technology related awards, including being named a top ten entrepreneur by Red Herring, and one of The Top 50 People in High Tech by Ziff Davis.

David B. Jackson

Board Member, Founder and CTO

David Jackson is an established thought leader in adaptive enterprise data centers, cloud, and HPC environments. Over a period of sixteen years, David worked for several HPC centers, providing resource management and scheduling services to such leadership-class organizations as Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, San Diego Supercomputer Center, National Center for Supercomputing Applications, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Maui High Performance Computing Center, and the Center for High Performance Computing. He also worked as a consultant at IBM’s AIX System Center. David is a founding member of the Global Grid Forum and a member of the Department of Energy’s Scalable System Software Initiative.

Jon Danielson

Board Member – Tudor Growth Equity

Jon Danielson is a Principal at Tudor Growth Equity, the venture capital and private equity arm of Tudor Investment Corporation, an internationally recognized diversified investment management firm. Before joining Tudor, Jon spent four years at Hambrecht & Quist, now JP Morgan, a technology-focused investment bank. At JP Morgan, Jon executed public and private equity transactions for a broad range of Internet, software, and communications companies. Prior to JP Morgan, Jon worked in business development at a high technology start-up and was a management consultant with Bain & Company.

Michael A. Jackson

Board Member, Co-founder and President

Michael Jackson is a co-founder of Adaptive Computing and helped to drive the first nine years of profitable growth. Michael drives Adaptive Computing’s strategic planning and cross company coordination, with an added focus on business and partner development. Prior to joining Adaptive Computing Enterprises, Michael was product manager of Internet and security products at Novell Inc.—the current developer of SUSE Linux. He also served as Novell’s channel business development manager. Prior to Novell, Michael was with Dorian International, the second largest import–export management company in the United States.

Robert A. Clyde

Board Member and CEO

A recognized industry leader, Rob has over twenty-five years’ experience as an enterprise software executive with demonstrated leadership success at startup companies to large companies, including Symantec and Axent Technologies. An internet security pioneer and innovator, he is credited with the creation of the first commercial intrusion detection system and led the business unit that developed and brought to market the first security compliance product. As CTO at Symantec, Rob defined Symantec’s technology strategy and was a key part of the management team that drove the company to grow from slightly under $1B in revenue to over $5B in five years. He also serves as a member of the board of directors for Telligent and PasswordBank.

Robert J. Rueckert

Board Observer – Intel Capital

Rob is a Director at Intel Capital and invests in internet, cloud computing and collaboration companies. Prior to Intel Capital, Rob spent 10 years in the software industry, 5 years as an engineer / CTO and an additional 5 years as a software consultant with Arthur Andersen.
